Eric Claridge is a self-taught artist and musician living and working in Chicago. Born in Memphis, Claridge attended New York University in the 80's. After leaving college he joined the band Shrimp Boat in 1986 and later formed the Sea and Cake with Sam Prekop. He began painting in 1993 during the formation of the Sea and Cake, with work featured prominently on several albums. Claridge's water colors, gouaches and oils have been exhibited in Chicago, Tokyo, Kyoto, London, Melbourne, Lille and Paris. His ink drawings were published in the Chicago Reader.
